Parts of Handelsbanken Finans’s operations in Sweden (Retail Financial Services, e-commerce and loyalty programmes) are being consolidated into the new Ecster business area. The launch is a result of several strong change drivers in retail trading including increasing digitalisation and consumer requirements for flexibility and security in conjunction with long-term, sustainable business relations.
Ecster will respond to the changes with products and services which provide secure and flexible methods of payment whilst at the same time building loyalty. The objective is to create a good, long-term relation between the merchant and the consumer, regardless of whether the relation is in a store or online.
“We want to help to develop retail trading in Sweden and to embrace all aspects of the buying
experience. Our contribution is to improve the entire buying experience – before the purchase,
during it and after,” explains Anders Karlsson, Head of Ecster.
By focusing on the customer relationship and the buying experience, Ecster will create long-term relations and add value for the merchants.
“We are now taking the first step in the creation of a total offering which builds customer loyalty. Today’s payment solutions have primarily been designed for purchases to be completed as quickly as possible. This makes many consumers uncertain and sometimes dissatisfied after the event. Ecster makes it simple and secure for consumers to make purchases and keep track of their payments. Favourable buying experiences and loyalty programmes lead to increased sales and repeat customers for our merchants,” continues Anders.
Ecster, previously Handelsbanken Finans – Retail Financial Services, offers payment services and loyalty programmes for retail business focused on both merchants and consumers.
Ecster is part of Svenska Handelsbanken AB.
